Mites, lice, ticks. idk

lately me and my dad had built a new coop and my girls havent been laying and today i was petting one of my girls and she layed down thinking i was a roo and i noticed either mites ticks or lice. all i know is that they had some brown in them. if you could please help me by how i could cure them and prevent them from comming back.

I am trying to research mites and not finding too much yet but here is what I know so far: best to clean the coop well and then spread wood ashes and/or food grade diatomaceous earth in and around the coop and even on the birds to help deter/prevent mites etc. Also you can use permethrin ("Poultry dust") to treat. (I personally am looking for natural options because I lost years to a toxity poisoning (lead/pesticides/molds).)
