mites on almost all of my chickens... treatment!!!!!! PLEASE HELP!!!!!

I too prefer using a flea/tick shampoo. I feel it gets the bugs off the birds more rapidly (including some of the eggs), and will also get any feather mites that the ivermectin doesn't. I prefer Sergeant's Gold as it will also kill the eggs. If you use a product that doesn;t kill the eggs, you need to retreat in about a week, and to be really thorough, again in another week. I do use flea/tick spray at times, but I prefer to shampoo. After the bath I treat with ivermectin pour-on before the feathers are completely dry--makes it easier to get the product onto the skin, only.

Sevin or permethrin dust in the coop and bedding, and thoroughly sprayed into all nooks and crannies of the coop and roosts.

Frontline spray is an all-round miracle. A bit under their wings, between their legs and in their crest or on the underside of their neck will kill any bug on them. Make sure to dust house and yard, too, or the chickens will get reinfested. BTW, Frontline spray also kills leg mites - 100% and sooo easy! No Vaseline smearing or other sticky mess. Good luck!

^^ Ditto...I bathe my birds with flea/tick dog shampoo for immediate kill of mites, then spray with Frontline..and then let them free range to dry while I Sevin Dust their coop and bedding.
