Mites On Ducks?

Curious, did you take a good look at his skin under all those feathers to see if he actually had mites before treating?
It wasn't me but that is a good question? The vet assistant told them they had mites which brings us back to the question of "why didn't the vet prescribe a solution".

Good point, but it makes me want to remind people that when something like this happens we should say "how do I treat these mites?".

The average person might have a hard time inspecting a duck for lice and mites because they're pretty fluffy with lots of down, so *much* harder to check for bugs than on chickens.
 
ok, showing my ignorance here, but what do they look like and what would make you suspect they had them?
