About a month ago, I found one of my girls on the bottom of her coop. She was too cold & weak to get into her nest box. Thinking she was in danger of dying, I brought her into the house. It soon became apparent that she was/is infested with mites. I've given her a bath. She's had 2 treatments with ivermectin. I have her in a dog crate with pine shavings. I added Diatamaceous Earth to the pine shavings. I've sprayed her crate, the bedding, the area around the crate & her with pyrethrin spray. She still has mites. Please help!!! I can't seem to get them under control & she's in my house. She's also weak & I'm still afraid that she might die. I don't know what else to do.

I've also treated the ones outside but am limited to what I can do since it's winter. They've been treated with ivermectin twice. I put DE in their pine shavings bedding. It's too cold to bath them or spray the coop down. I know they have mites too but seem to be handling it pretty well. I'm going to change their bedding to straw & add peppermint & lavender as well as DE to their bedding.

Any advice?

DE won't help, there's a permethrin dust (Garden & Poultry) that you can try dusting your birds with, the shaving need to be raked out & burned. Coop & roost sprayed with a permethrin spray. @Kiki also has more info what you can do/use
Thanks....I have to go to Tractor Supply today so will see if i can find it & I plan to clean the coop today so will spray it down.

The one I'm using on the chicken is a pet bird mite & lice spray. The one I'm using in the coop is from Tractor Supply.
I'm not sure what that is but I highly recommend getting permethrin.

They're both permethrin sprays, I spelled it wrong. The one for the coop is Duravet, which you mix with water. The one for pet birds is ready to use.

Ok great.
How many changes are you using when mixing it with the water?
You may not be using enough if you're still seeing the mites.

If I were you I would spray every couple of days until you do not see mites.
Both tbebirds and coop.

It's mixed 1oz per 32oz. Should I treat them again with ivermectin? I've already treated them twice. I really hate using all these chemicals on them but it seems to be the only way to get rid of the mites.
