Mits/bugs on hens eggs !!!!!!?????

Sevin is fine. However it is quite short-term. Pyrethrins are just as safe, and they have a longer residual effect. You can get pytethrins in powder form at farm supply stores. I woud use either the sevin or the pyrethrin dust to dust the chickens, and get some liquid pyrethrins to mix with water and spray the roosts, nests, floor, walls, etc. This will kill most of the mites for a long time.

5%--every Walmart I have ever been to carries it...also Home Depot or Lowes carries it!

I pour a couple cups in a bucket and stick the chicken in the bucket...and then just take scoops and spread it all over them(really rub it in and get in good under the wings and the chest, and the base of their tail. They're gonna be all dusty when you put them down...that's just fine! Be prepared---you're gonna be dusty!

This is so easy to do---even if you don't see mites on your chickens, I would dust them just to keep them mite free as well!

I also sprinkle it right in their shavings and flooring and just mix it around to stir it good! I always have Sevin on hand in my barn! You won't even use a whole bag! But do it in a pan or bucket cause otherwise you'll waste a ton of it.

Ok got some sevin dust and some dust with pyrethrin in it, planning on dusting/cleaning this weekend, Just want to make 100% sure that the sevin dust is ok to put in the coop and nest boxes ????? My chickens peck around in there coop (who knows why) so this wont harm them if the eat/peck a little ???????
