Mixed breed Brahma??

The Easter egger is red columbian. Light brahmas are silver columbian. Your cockerel got a silver gene from the Brahma and a gold gene from the EE. He’s gold/silver split columbian. Since silver is dominant, he appears mostly silver.
Blowing my mind right now. Going to have to look some of that up but you are just talking about plumage color right? 😅 I thought Colombian was just a breed of chicken.

So now that this guy is feathering out his tail feathers are coming in weird. One of my other cockerels has a tail like him but I attributed it to the other cockerel being a frizzle. They might have the same mother however.

Cockerel in question with the weird tail feathers.

Sibling of cockerel, has a normal tail.

Both birds together. The one in the back is the one with the weird feathers. You can kind of see how they turn out and curl instead of sitting straight.

Potential parent birds. Both hens have “normal” tail feathers.

It doesn’t look too weird to me. Juvenile feathers can be odd.
Thats interesting about the black chick with silver leakage. I actually have a chick that looks like that. I know this chick came out of a blue egg since the hen that hatched it out only hatched out two chicks. Here is the chick with the silver leakage. I actually really love this coloring.View attachment 2783848View attachment 2783849
Out of curiosity, how does this chick look now?

I figured they were his juvenile feathers too. But I have another light Brahma mix, different father, who has the same tail.

Better pictures of this cockerel.

Hatchmate of said cockerel. Might have a different father and mother. It’s easier to see in person but this guys feathers come straight off the back end.

Frizzle that has a tail like the cockerel in question. His father had a longer tail, even as a juvenile. But this guys tail flairs out.

And the light Brahma(rooster) and olive egger(hen) mix.

Did their tails start to feather out normally?
That mixed chick has a beautiful pattern.
