So this guy is either a mix between a brahma hen and an EE roo. Or a brahma roo and an OE hen. Which one is more likely given its coloring and cheek puffs? The brahma hens and roo are pure bred from a breeder. I don’t remember what color egg he came out of since I had three hens go broody at once. They just got whatever eggs were inside or laid.

Thats interesting about the black chick with silver leakage. I actually have a chick that looks like that. I know this chick came out of a blue egg since the hen that hatched it out only hatched out two chicks. Here is the chick with the silver leakage. I actually really love this coloring.

I found a picture of the nest this chick hatched out of. There’s only one colored egg but I’m pretty sure that one didn’t make it. This chick has three hatch mates too. Two silkies and another brahma. I’m thinking the hen had to of been a brahma by what’s left in the nest. The darker brown egg is from a RIR and she wouldn’t give cheek puffs.

How cute is that little baby! So fluffy with all the leg feathers, I love it!♥️

I got a cockerel exactly like that from a Brahma Rooster with an Olive Egger hen. Since my hen wasn't black though, your case might be different.
Yeah. All my poofy cheeked hens are black. This little guy is a mystery to me.

That's what I would think too
I’m not sure if you know the answer to this, but why would the Brahma coloring be so dominant? He looks like a brahma besides the cheek puffs. None of EE roo colorings are here, if he is the father.

The Easter egger is red columbian. Light brahmas are silver columbian. Your cockerel got a silver gene from the Brahma and a gold gene from the EE. He’s gold/silver split columbian. Since silver is dominant, he appears mostly silver.
