Mixed breed ducks!

They are beautiful!
Is it just the camera or do they have more of a chocolate black to them instead of jet black like Cayuga ducks do?

What color of eggs do they lay?

They actually have an underlayer of white feathers (their downy layer, I guess), then an almost chocolately layer below than. It's easiest to see between their wings, actually.

They lay off-white eggs with streaks of grey and black.

I would love to see a picture of the streaked eggs! My girl is a black Swedish/ Rouen mix and hers come out grey-ish at the start of a lay and end up off white after a few days. She got some alone time in the bath today after a long molt!

These girls have a Mallard dad and a Pekin mom.. every bit as large as a Pekin hen, Mallard coloring... nothing to exciting. I can't wait to see if the eggs will be white or green tinted!

I see you saw my mixed breed thread with our pekinc/cayuga mixes from months ago. If you want I get could better pictures of them. They're so beautiful and such great layers. And I love chances to show off my ducks. xD
