i jus found this thread...lol i love it... i have a few mixed a barred rock rooster with RIR, and EE"s. the EE mix turned out a gorgeous gray color.. have to get some pics..

there is however one problem with this as helpful as it may be you also have to think if i were to use some of these mixes to try and create the same results as in all these very pretty pics they may be different as there could be genes that are hidden in the chickens makeup and thats a factor that someone who wants to breed these specific mixes might want to think about and to be aware that their results may differ from someone elses

This is my hen Sofiah. She is a Rhode Island Red x Araucana. She is the friendlies chickens ever! She jumps on my feet waiting to be picked up so she can fall asleep in my arms. She is very small for 8 months. She just laid her first egg a couple days ago. I feel like with the cross it stunted her growth and development.

I think you have your own breed of chicken here! Call a hatchery and see if you can successfully hatch other batches with the same outcome! HE IS GORGEOUS! i would def by one. The golden Laced Wyandotte!!!!!

Does anybody have pics of what a Buff Orpington rooster X Barred Rock hen would look like?? I saw the BR X BO, but I assume that they would come out different? I just hatched some BO X BR and was wondering what they would look like!!

They will be sexlinked. Males will have a spot on the head and females won't. Not sure what they will look like grown, but the males will be barred.

I have a ton of chicks that are growing crossed barred rock roo x cochin hen. They seem to have very little barring.. Mostly dark. Nice feathered feet and very fat lol.

I also have some Delaware hen over Barred rock roo that are very light in barring - almost look like a 100% barred rock boy.

I also have a RSL hen over a barred rock roo that is pure white with a few dark feathers. That one was a surprise :)

What age should I wait to before sharing pictures here?
