Has anyone ever tried a Light Brahma Silkie cross? I have a fairly large black silkie roo and a slightly smaller Light brahma hen and want to try it out!

From the very little i have read about Silkie genetics is... Something along the lines of not having silkie feathers unless both parents have the gene. You might get a mostly black chick with maybe some white? Im no genius on genetics and im learning. I have a light Brahma rooster over all my hens and he gives me silver chicks, even if the mothers are patridge or have reds in them. Black however, i dont know. Sorry i dont have pics of the silkie crossHas anyone ever tried a Light Brahma Silkie cross? I have a fairly large black silkie roo and a slightly smaller Light brahma hen and want to try it out!
The coloring would be a mystery, but you can expect non-silkied feathers, an afro, and a beard.Has anyone ever tried a Light Brahma Silkie cross? I have a fairly large black silkie roo and a slightly smaller Light brahma hen and want to try it out!
Barred rock x black sex link would make mostly barred offspring with a bit of silver or red leakage. Barred rock x black australorp would make all barred black offspring (if barred rock is the father) or black barred males and black females (if barred rock is the mother).Does anybody have a picture of a Barred Rock X Black Sex Link or a Barred Rock X Black Australorp?
If your silkie is all black, the offspring will be black with silver leakage.Has anyone ever tried a Light Brahma Silkie cross? I have a fairly large black silkie roo and a slightly smaller Light brahma hen and want to try it out!
Not necessarily, their fibromelanism is controlled by multiple genes & can create varying offspring. Even if they should be all black in theory, I wouldn't be surprised if most of them came out with unique or unusual feathering. If your silkie is all black, the offspring will be black with silver leakage.
My only BR mixes are some BR x Dominique that just look like Doms, but I've got some interesting Dom mixes. They look a lot like BR's, and the breeds are related. I have some Dom x Ameraucana EE mixes, they're my favorite.Does anybody have cool looking Barred Rock Mixes?
