Mixed Breeds?

Thank you!

He was hatched out of a Foxfire Isbar egg. The blue green egg gene was in him, as his offspring laid light green eggs (the lovely crested lady above). The mothering hen was the Australorp. Definitely noticed that some (2 chicks out of 7 or 8 batches) of the offspring from Foxfire do have some quirks.

This is Lucifer - black Isbar with a funky comb and crest.

Huh, strange. Crests aren’t a recessive trait, so maybe he had some legbar in his background? That is an interesting comb, too.

I would assume Legbar background as well, somewhere up the line. What did they use to create the Isbar again 🤔 I might have to do some reading...

That comb is definitely weird. But thanks to that comb I know which chicks came from this roos offspring lol

I might as well post pictures of the mixed young ones from my flock.

Little gold one is a Legbar x Wyandotte (don’t mind the daughter in the background)

The bird to the left with the small crest, funky looking comb and almost white ear lobes was fathered by a Barbezieux and the Isbar/Australorp hen.

Those are the ones I’m sure of for now. Still scratching my head on the others. Almost all of the cockerels are gone now. So will get some updated photos of the pullets as they grow. 98% of my flock is pure bred, so will be neat to finally figure out who parented who.
