I have some hens that are soon to start laying currently eating grower ration (my understanding is they should eat this until they start to lay then switch to layer ration). They have 2 guineas living in there too. These guys all free range and eat a lot of garden goodies and weeds, etc but still eat their ration feed.

I currently have 7 turkeys and 26 new baby (DP pullets) brooding in my basement. I want to have them all live together. My question is what do I feed them? I am okay with the idea that the turkeys and chicks stay separate until they are off the starter feed, the turkeys only need one more week of it but the chicks are brand new so need quite a bit longer.

Can I just feed them all the same feed and offer supplements for the extra needs? Like have oyster shell available, and some extra protein on the side for the turkeys?

The high protein feed that the turkeys need is fine for the chicks too.

I am currently feeding turkey starter to my poults, chicks, adult chickens and turkeys... did that last year also,

Thanks I just bought starter feed today. The lady at the store said to just offer oyster shell on the side for the hens. Hope it will work. What kind of turkeys do you have?
