Mixed flock & Layer feed

My 3 older hens are 33 months old and only one is Laying.
They've had a pail of Oyster Shells separate from the feed before they were 5 months old.View attachment 1628806.
I also have 19 weeks old pullets with Oyster Shells separate from the feed since they were 17 weeks. They went Nuts for it on the first day but take very little now.View attachment 1628807. Most are Squatting, non are Laying. Both Flocks also have a separate pail of Granite Grit.View attachment 1628808.View attachment 1628809. GC
So your main feed for your whole flock is not a layer feed.

Random i am going to have to do this with my old flower pots and put them into use what you did with grit container:)
I drilled 3/32 holes in bottom of pails to drain moisture. 20190101_074914.jpg But your pots probably have holes. GC

No, my first Flock feather picked when I switched to a 16% Protein Layers Feed.
I feed my Hens and Pullets a Non-Medicated Starter-Grower 18% or a All-Flock 20% Protein Crumbles, which ever is available or fresher when I'm at the feed store. Here is one of the Tags.

Calcium amount is the same for both feeds. Chickens like both. I use hanging feeders and add feed as needed. They never get empty. 20181023_173405.jpg . GC
