It won't increase the protein content but feeding crumbled hard boiled eggs will provide the best protein there is. Mealworms are 50% protein but you have to limit how many they get because a steady diet of that high of protein can be harmful.

I’m sorry to keep trying to get more specific (it’s just the type of weird mind I have) but are you saying combine the 16% all flock with a complete hard boiled egg per 14 hole feeder, the flat kind, or am I just sprinkling a few meal worms in the pine shavings? Interestingly, my chicks won’t have anything to do with the meal worms!

No, I am saying to just give them some crumbled up hard boiled eggs separately. You can try partially crumbling some mealworms on their food.

Keets should not be on pine shavings until they have grit available. They can and do eat the shavings but without grit available they cannot digest them. It will cause them to plug up and die.

I’ve noticed they like to pick at the chips. I put quite a bit of grit spread around in the pine chips. The mom chicken seems to have done a good job showing them how to get it. Will do with the eggs and mealworms. These guys seem to eat anything that isn’t locked up (and they’re so smart, I’m guessing they’ll be able to pick the lock soon). :lau

Yes, the Guineas are thriving and mom plus chick are doing just as well! Thanks for all the great advice!
