Mixed flock

I have Chickens, Ducks, Geese, Turkey's, and Guineas all mixed in my flock, I haven't had any health issues ever and the birds seem to all do well. Is mixed flock safe for my birds?

Yes, the mixed flock should work fine. Also, feed them scratch or other assorted grains.

You might want to check out and post in the various forums in Other Poultry. https://www.backyardchickens.com/f/66/other-backyard-poultry Many people keep mixed flocks and everything goes well ... there are some potential problems with mixed flocks, blackhead with chicken/turkeys is the most commonly mentioned one.

Yes, there can be health issues, sometimes. Not only Blackhead from the Turkeys to the Chickens, but Chickens carry things that can harm the Turkeys as well. So I would do more research here and ask in the various forums here on BYC. I would imagine if you have not had any issues thus far, then they may be ok all being together.

There are different protein requirements between the species as well...some need a higher protein and others do not. So this may pose an issue in the future.

Can anyone tell me if a Russian Orloff can be in a mixed flock
