Over half were broken in transit. Over the first week of incubation I found seven infertile, I had 1 quitter at day 10. There is only one left, and it is pipped, but still waiting on it. I am hoping! I think my dog farted in the incubating room though... I hope that doesnt hurt it any! I would hate for this fighter to end from dog flatulence (not bad egg smell...this is WAY worse)
Okay, if I take your eggs Wifezilla, would you be able to wait like 2 weeks to send them? I should have bator space by then!
If so, I could offer 6+ eggs from my rouen, pekin, and cayuga flock, mostly rouens and pekins, as I only have 1 pair of cayuga, and the girl is hiding her nest
Only 1 pekin and 1 rouen are laying right now though, unless the other pekin is hiding her nest too. This summer I'll have another pekin duck, 2 rouen ducks, and one more cayuga duck in the mix, but they are too young right now
Let me know if you can hold off on shipping for a few weeks Wifezilla, before anyone takes my offer. Though it doesn't look like that will happen anytime soon! Sorry, no pics of any babies, I can't hatch anything worth a darn right now
Just let me know when you want some sent. I get an egg a day each from my two girls. Worse case scenario...hubby eats all the eggs and I have to wait 3 extra days to ship
awww, shelleyd, you know its just a bad streak of luck right now...I bet it'll change for the better soon!
Tis a lesson you should heed,
Try, try again.
If at first, you don't succeed,
Try, try, again.
Then your courage should appear,
For, if you will perservere,
You will conquer, never fear,
Try, try again.
Funny, this is my homeschool lesson in personal development/poetry this week
Just goes to show the oldies really ARE goodies
Good luck shelly d!
Maybe I will be able to take an offer in a couple weeks from my lazy ducks should start laying soon, the oldest ones are 25 weeks old and the boys are going therough their final molt.
Soon ,soon!! Patience is not my strongest virtue lol
Here is a pic of the parents. Offer is still 6+ pure/mixed pekins, rouens, cayugas. The cayuga would definitely be mixed, as I can't find the duck's nest. But there is still the drake who could get lucky occassionally
