I just started my first chicken coop. I bought three small(two month old BANTAMS). I'm now wanting to get some better egg layers. Is it wise to put a couple of grown Rhode Island Reds with these three small Bantams?????

please advise, Thanks

Usually bantams and large fowl get along just fine. I would quarantine any new birds you bring in, then, when you are ready you should probably put the new girls in a separate pen or cage where they and your bantam girls can see and get to know each other - at least for a couple of days. That way you probably won't have much trouble with them once they establish their pecking order.

some sources say not to put your baby chickens with adult chickens untill they are 5 months old-regardless, 2 months to me is too young to be with adult chickens, at 5 months then they will have better disease fighting capabilities
