Mixing chicks with hens

I have 4 6 week old chicks (2 tetra tints 4 golden comets) and 3 hens (2 barred rocks 1 white leghorn) the chicks have been in the coop for 2 weeks just seprrated from the hens with a fence. When will I be able to take down the fence?

There is a nice article in the Learning Center about combining flocks. https://www.backyardchickens.com/a/adding-to-your-flock people generally recommend waiting until the younger ones are about the same size as the older ones.... so you probably need to wait awhile longer... keeping them separated with wire is a good way to get them used to each other so it should go pretty smoothly once the little ones are bigger.
