In my friends coop, i've seen chickens play keep away when they catch the mice. I've been told they eat them too. Not sure if this is a good thing or bad thing. Circle of life?

It's a good thing.

I even toss captured mice into the yard for them, when the RatZapper trap provides the animal protein. (I couldn't toss live mice to the chickens!). I know they've caught their own mice, which is why I give them those caught in the house.

Remember, chickens are omnivores, which means they eat everything, not just vegetation. Plus, they're descended from T-Rex!
