Mixing pine shavings and peat moss for brooder bedding?

Would this be a good idea? I've heard that peat moss hold heat really well, and it is really soft and absorbent, but I know pine shavings are great too, and I'd get more for my money that way, too. I am easily able to get both.

Yes thats what i did with my broody and now almost all of my chicks hatched
