MJCoffin new to chickens

I live in North Carolina and plan to have 6 hens this spring. I am wanting to build a walk in coop that is raised. I live in the country and can have as many as I want. Don't laugh---I really only want 6---8 at the most. I appreciate this site and the information that is available.

you say dont laugh but you must know your holding yourself to just six or eight is laughable only because the birds are so much Fun! You mustve been poking around for a bit to say it Im glad you joined! From what i hear with raised coops u want to be sure you can grab at any point under the coop in case some one is sick and hiding or something. Best of luck!

I live in North Carolina also, I have 5 hens and 1 rooster, mixed rocks and wyandottes. It is all I want or need; keep doing what works for you.
