MJ's little flock

Yes that usually works best. For me the Dogwoods and the blueberries are native. Forsythia and Viburnum aren't native but both are ubiquitous in the area.
I am curious what sort of plants grow in your sand? Sounds like palm trees and succulants maybe?

Oh a succulent garden would be wonderful!!!

Ok, so Bok (my near 3 year old ISA) hasn’t laid in about 5 months but still goes in and nests each day for a bit like she would when laying.
I moved her out of the nesting box today to make sure there was no poop hanging around while I was cleaning the run and the day cubby etc and she started fluffing up the straw just outside of the nesting box instead. Is it normal for them to do this when clearly (and sadly) there’s never going to be another egg?

Beautiful, sunny day here, girls are loving a range and hanging out under the apple tree in the shade🥰

It's going to be fantastic in the long term too, as the flocks fills out. And it'll be great when I go back to travelling, assuming we all get back to it eventually.

I do some writing among a bunch of other commitments. In this case, someone whose work I respect invited me to write a section for his latest book, of course I jumped at it. He invited three others too but I don't know who. He was pleased with it and said it cohered with one of his chapters, so that's good.
Good job! That must be very satisfying.

And yet you can ride a motorbike ~ which I consider more difficult... 🤔
I think Shad may have been less than artful with his sentence. He can ride a bike. He was trying to say that Aussie-Chookmum not being able to ride a bike is surprising. Not that he could not ride a bike.

It's all looking lovely MJ. You should have some very happy hens.

Would you consider some shell ginger. Mine love it & it's really hardy once established beside getting lovely hanging clumps of flowers.

I have planted some in the run extension & am hoping it gets a go on before the girls get to it.
