MJ's little flock

Are they enjoying the air conditioning?
It seems that's what tempted across the threshold. All three found a little respite from the heat, stopped panting, and went back out to their favourite parking spot for a comfy sit down on damp soil.

Can you believe this: I've awoken to rain falling! After yesterdays silent and oppressive heat, it sounds amazing on the roof!

I have to correct myself; it was printed in 1924. If it had been 1914 it would have been over 100 years old.

I was just about to close the book when it flicked over to the pages below. Bottom left, there is an ad for John Buchan’s The Three Hostages. I read that for the first time only recently!

I used to love annuals! I never really understood them, culturally speaking, so they were such puzzles. I'm sure I've still got one or two from the 70s.

Good evening MJ and everyone 😊

Yep, nice and cool, plus checking out your living arrangements 😉
Hahaha!

Just like the Schlegels in Howards End.

Janet plays Margaret: What do you think? Shall we take it? I want to hear from both of you.

Mary: No.

Ivy: Yes.

That's decided then.

Not only long in the tooth but a book so influential it's still in print after... Doing my sum... 541 years! (Somebody better check my answer I haven't had tea yet).

The British library holds a first edition (predictably, but it's still nice that anyone can go and clap eyes on it).

Fudge.
