That sounds like a great way to get eggs! Way better than the store.Yes, her hubby is an Indian Brahma breeder and they have a property. She lives an a hour from me so we’re meeting halfway for coffee.
Very cool. I can't wait to hear about this adventure.Thank you Grammy! You too.

I still get slime build up in the ones here. I put a drop or two of oxine in their water which helps. So far I like them very much. Easy to fill. Easy to handle.
I'm glad I didn't buy larger ones because they'd have been too heavy for me when filled.
No sunlight will get in. Does that mean there will be less slime build up?
I haven't yet seen the hens take a drink, but they will once they're accustomed.
This is one advantage I've found. I change the water every day and someitmes twice a day...........then they go and drink out of the plant pot bases.I doubt i could safely carry a larger one once it was filled. I don't mind the small size, it will keep me changing the water regularly.
Good to know. Thanks.I still get slime build up in the ones here. I put a drop or two of oxine in their water which helps.
I'm looking forward to it!Very cool. I can't wait to hear about this adventure.
So far the hens haven't tried them out, but they will in time. They're beginning to realise the bottles hold water. I make a point of spladhing a little each time a hen is watching.
Dirty Wild Water is best! This is one advantage I've found. I change the water every day and someitmes twice a day...........then they go and drink out of the plant pot bases.![]()
