I would be very very surprised if she isn't turning the eggs. I have never had a broody that didn't turn her eggs, never.

Ok that's good news. At the same time, I'd like to know for sure she's doing it because she's not had an older hen to learn from.

Sydney knew to do it and no one taught her. I put a camera on her and recorded the egg rolling frequency for Shadrach.

She's definitely chirping to her eggs. Every few minutes she chirps to them.

Sydney seemed to speak a lot. I also don't feel that she tranced a lot. She seemed pretty busy to me either grooming herself, talking, or rolling them.

Maybe Peggy is being defensive when I open the lid to look at her. Makes sense that she would freeze and flatten.

Yes, Sydney would flatten and freeze when I was near. You won't notice if you are hovering. Can you see her without opening the box?

No but I can hear her. I'm sitting beside the box and I can hear her talking to her eggs every few minutes. Maybe that's when she's rotating them?
