MJ's little flock

Today I hope to observe Peggy off the nest because I really would like to make check how soft it is and if it needs deeper straw.

I'm also thinking ahead to chick time and wanting to put builders sand and the little roost in the wider box area so chicks can find it easier to get to and from water and food.

Well. Ivy is broody. She tried a co-sit with Peggy. Peggy didn't mind, but I did. I lifted Ivy down. But it felt like the wrong thing to do because they were both very content sitting together.
I've got co~sitters...I've got 4 sharing 1 egg.

I had a quiet moment so I pulled the straw out of the roosting part of the little coop while keeping it bulked up in the nest part, and put clean grit in there. Peggy sat through the whole operation.

I put water in there so it's convenient for chicks if they hatch. I'll put food nearby once they're hatched. The terracotta dishes didn't work out Shad, but I can go buy some especially if the plastic water container isn't ok.

Guess who went in to inspect?
