MJ's little flock

Good evening folks :frow

I have a friend who hasn't been home in weeks due to the flooding
How stressful and distressing for them. These river floods are slow-moving but devastating, and the water doesn't go away for such a long time.

I wonder what Peggy will think about this turn of events? 🧐

She really needs to keep an eye on you! 😉
She is going to be rather busy establishing order over the next few weeks!

The two new hens really touched my heart last night. They were in a cage and were so easy to handle. I hope they're not feeling too worried this morning.

This would be overwhelming to me. I would have to do drastic things to quarantine appropriately. Best of luck to you. Remember, the hens did not ask for this to happen and they need help.
I was definitely overwhelmed, but I'm OK with it now. Once I saw their characters I knew everything was going to be fine after some inconvenience. It's only a week and a half until the pullets can come out of their room. Then the new hens can have the pullets' room and I can have a functional laundry again. In the meantime, I don't think the neighbours will mind if I use their laundry because they've had to use mine in the past. I'll just have to do my best with respect to quarantine until then.

I kept telling myself that. All the same, I was relieved when they showed up and weren't RIRs
I would have been relieved as well. Not saying I would not have given them a chance. I'm glad you are helping them. :hugs

Thanks for taking care of them. They are very lucky.

Here are the refugees.

I showed them the food and water, then left them in peace to adjust at their own pace.

I'll make time to get some straw and a to set up a nest before I go to the office. Then they'll have the day to settle in before I start bothering them again late afternoon.
