MJ's little flock

Hello MJ and everyone 😊😴

Yes, she had the first ones in July. I found out yesterday that hubby had dosed her half an hour earlier the night before and I dosed her half an hour later the next morning, so the extra hour might have been too much for the coverage. I’ve started giving her Gabapentin again at night and we’ll see the vet on Tuesday.
How's she doing ? :hugs :hugs

I just ‘did a Ribh’ and read it; phew! Looks pretty heavy going! I would need it ‘splained’ to me too! :lau
It's the best book I've read all year, and in spite of being a scholarly text, it's a delightful read. Which is a huge improvement because I wanted to throw last month's in the fire!

I love it when you get a text book with a sense of humour! I've seen one or two of those in my time.

It makes a real difference!

The one I was reading last night didn't have a sense of humour but it had a lot of clarity and made strong arguments with few rhetorical devices. No slippery slope arguments, no victim blaming, merely clear examples from both sides of the theme, leading to a sound recommendation. In perfectly clear, unemotional language.

Five days until Pullet Freedom Day!

Coincidentally, Pullet Freedom Day is also Peggy and Janet go to the vet day and maybe Mary's eggs will hatch day.

The plan: get Peg and Jan off the roost the night before, in the morning chaperone Ivy into the funrun as always, add pullets to the funrun, go to the vet appointment, release Jan and Peg into the funrun, get a cuppa and watch the shenanigans. Keep ears open for peeps in the nest. At the end of the day, let the gang out for foraging time, when the pullets roost in their usual spot, carry them into the big coop for the night.

If might take a few days for the pullets to decide to roost in the big coop, but when they do, I'll clean out their room and refurbish it with fresh sawdust, then move the laundry chickens in and clean out the laundry.

Does that seem ok?

Do you come across many texts that victim-blame and have slippery slope arguments?

That sounds like a full day to look forward to! Have Joyce and Christa learnt how to use the washing machine yet? :D
