I see a towel on the roost like I do!
Uh oh. Gisele very much looks like a cockerel to me.
Ok. I've signed the consent.
Well, there it is. I am so sorry, MJ. You did so much to try to help her along to recover. Big hug to you.The vet thinks it's unlikely she has anything contagious. He thinks it's probably congenital.
MJ, I know I am late to this conversation, but I have had to decide on euthanasia three times now (the first one I did myself once Margo was unresponsive and the next two I had done by avian vets.) Once when I was questioning my decision, the avian vet told me they would not even consider it, or suggest it if it was the wrong thing to do. That gave me some peace of mind.I really did my best.
I hope euthanasia was the right decision. It's so hard to be sure.
Yes, I agree. It’s a very difficult decision to end it.I'm pretty sure she was fading out of life and that continued crop-feeding would've prolonged her suffering.
I got the idea from you Michelle.I see a towel on the roost like I do!
Yeah, it’s pretty much a given now. Bella hasn’t started making boy noises but they and Giselle were chest-bumping yesterday. I’m just wondering is Giselle is going to get any louder, as the crowing isn’t any louder than any other bird in the back yard, and that includes Snowy!Uh oh. Gisele very much looks like a cockerel to me.
