MJ's little flock

Friends, if the eggs don't hatch, what are your opinions on giving Mary day old chicks?
It can work. I have done it successfully and I have a lot of suggestions on how to make it work.

The important thing is that you be prepared to raise them if she does not adopt them.

I've been thinking that through and reading some websites, including articles and posts on byc.

Not quite. Only a half canopy because she plans for the worst. But there are also best outcomes!
I planned for the best outcomes over the last few weeks. I drove out to the mill to buy the freshest crumble. I swept twice with the magnet. I bought and installed shade sails. And i did more, all of you witnessed it.

It's time to start thinking "what if these eggs don't hatch?"

Chicks worked for us 🤷 for what that's worth. Giving the chicks at night seems to increase the chance of success.

How old were the chicks? Were they day old or week old?

My first glance at people's experiences indicates younger have better acceptance rates.
