I agree, a bit of both is perfect.Productive satisfying days are the best MJ.
But then, so are relaxed contemplative days.
It's good to have the contrast I think.

Maybe I'll sit down with a cup of tea and a good book and rest for a while. Maybe contemplate the meaning of life.Hmmm Mary spent a couple of hours in the nest, rearranging it to her preferences. What is she thinking??

Hi thereGood evening everyone![]()
You've captured the slowness of her life Bob!Maybe I'll sit down with a cup of tea and a good book and rest for a while. Maybe contemplate the meaning of life.
I'm sure that it irritates the others. I know Hattie and Aurora used to have very different ideas of what a nest should look like. It seems that Hattie won. Their shared nest is very prim and proper now. You've captured the slowness of her life Bob!
Seems a bit unfair when the one who doesn't lay eggs gets to muss up the nest.
Funny how hens don't start off with the same preferences. Although, come to think of it, Mary is much larger than everyone else so their idea of a cosy nest will be too small for her. Why she had to dig all the way down to the floor when there was a deep cushion of hay is a proper chicken mystery. She even pushed Peggy's egg out.I'm sure that it irritates the others.
