It's not so much an unburdening these days, but I do chat to them as I go about my chickening sometimes I scold Janet when she's mean.

I'm frequently telling Tsuki off for bullying. She will jump on Eddy's back and pull at her head feathers while Eddy shrieks! Edwina is noticeably bigger than Tsuki but she seems to be targeted most often.

Deana knows her name and comes when she is called. The others just respond to chook, chook, CHOOOOK!

That’s good! Ours charges $58 for exotics (ie not cats and dogs). The cats are $70, plus other stuff on top of that.

Our avian vet is just lovely. Not sure what I’m going to do if she goes on maternity leave though!

Is she the only one you can get to? Dr Hill's whole practise is based on birds, so all the vets there can take each others' clients. They take small animals too, but they're known for birds.

They are from the same hatch but Deana is much more laid back. Tsuki never bullies Deana.
Tsuki will frantically chase everyone else away from any resources (food and water) but Deana can just casually stroll in and eat what she wants and Tsuki will back down and make room for her. I have my suspicions that Deana is actually the top hen.

I've observed the same dynamic here. Mary is the captain but Janet does the bullying.

There is another vet at Greencross who isn’t an avian and pocket-pet specialist, but has owned his own chooks and is experienced. There are other avian vets at other practices but haven’t established a rapport.
