Lately I've been fantasising about octagon houses.

Imagine this: 7 rooms and 1 garage with an open tiled area in the middle, with a wading pool. 8 gardens radiating outwards. If I really want to let my imagination go, it's got two stories, with sleeping upstairs and living downstairs. Deep, shady verandah all the way round providing for deep shady balconies all the way around.

I have no clue where the idea of this bizarre and unachievable fantasy house comes from. Probably the internet somehow.
Sounds rather like a yurt, only better because of the verandah and open area in the middle.

Now that no one's broody, the hens are working out who is friends with who.

Janet is everyone's best friend. She's very peaceful. Peggy has been tearing feathers from Mary's head (but she doesn't eat them, it's pure aggression). Mary is aggressive toward Ivy. Peggy is friendly toward Ivy. Ivy doesn't show any aggression at all.

Only Janet is laying at present, although Ivy is considering her options, and Peggy is having a light moult.

Peggy shows the least trust in me. The others think I'm wonderful.

And no two days are the same, because chickens embrace change!
