MJ's little flock

Oh boy... Peer group pressure... :gig
Well, I have to get new chickens vicariously until after the new year. :( YD & I do the run but she is unavailable after this week & I'm not ready for them yet. Plus I go away to my mum for @ least a week in the New Year & I decided it really wasn't fair on DH to leave him with newish, not fully integrated birds. Just something to look forward too!:D

I'm concerned the new birds will pick up infectious coryza because once it's in a flock, it's always in a flock. So I'd prefer a chat with the bird vet before buying. However, I can keep them in the little coop for a month or more, so maybe it's not a problem. I need to check the literature to see how coryza spreads: airborn or contact? If it's by contact that buys me some time to talk to the vet and maybe have the antibiotic on hand before integrating fully.

Ah. I didn't know that. Disease is always worrying.
