Ever so gradually she's become the centre of gravity for the chickens. She keeps everyone steady and she's started to permit me handling her, which is just wonderful. These photos really show off how beautiful her feathers are. I love the pear shape.![]()
One of our friends had chickens that refused to switch. Keep an eye on them. Make certain they start eating it. They can be like cats.Good morning Grammyshe seems ok. She was running around ten minutes ago and five minutes ago she picked on Ivy. None of the hens were impressed with their new pellets last night. They're used to a grain mix as their grazing food. Mary eventually tucked in but the others decided to pick up crumbs instead. If she keeps up her efforts I'm sure her friends will follow along sooner or later.
That one's Janet, but you're right, Peggy was the happiest chicken I've ever seen! She was eeping with delight at things like gravel and dried up old weeds. She immediately threw herself into the rough and tumble, dominating Mary and Ivy who were both shattered to have their nemesis back, and chest bumping with Janet who managed to shut her up somehow. It was like Peggy became an extremely chickeny chicken. She had her chicken volume turned up to 11.I bet she's glad to be home.
Thanks! I try to clothe difference of opinion in respectful terms but it doesn't always translate in a textual format. I also try to make it clear that difference of opinion doesn't impact camaraderie as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully both of these subtexts are being read from my words.Nothing to apologize for. You be you. We love you for it.![]()
