I have to say I'm a bit flattered by that. I really am. ☺Also, most of the chickening I do is heavily informed by yourself and Shad.

You could use a towel to put on the chairs when you are not using them. I use cushions that I remove but put in place when I come out to sit.We have something called a variegated red twigged dog wood that is bright crimson branches in winter so looks pretty against the snow. https://www.michiganbulb.com/product/midwinter-fire-dogwood?

Then I thought Forsythia for spring interest and dense twigs for chickens to hide in.

There will be a very wet area where the gutters drain and wet is good for blueberries and the chickens love blueberries so thinking about that too.
Then I need a couple of chairs and a little table for me to sit in - need to solve the poop problem - might just hang a scraper near at hand!
Hope the links work. I do have to check none of these plants are poisonous to chickens. Blueberries definitely arent!
You seriously could house 40. What's the problem?Don't talk about slow and steady flock growth on these threads - before you know it someone will tell you to add 40!![]()

Apparently they are tasty, who knew. Thanks for sharing the knowledge. I feel that was knowledge hard gained.Succulents won’t survive, your girls will decimate them.![]()
Yup, my Lilly will occupy a nest box for hours with no hope of laying. I think she laid 4 eggs last year. @MaryJanet calls it reminiscing. I even made fun of her for it.Ok, so Bok (my near 3 year old ISA) hasn’t laid in about 5 months but still goes in and nests each day for a bit like she would when laying.
I moved her out of the nesting box today to make sure there was no poop hanging around while I was cleaning the run and the day cubby etc and she started fluffing up the straw just outside of the nesting box instead. Is it normal for them to do this when clearly (and sadly) there’s never going to be another egg?
Very nice. I can feel the warmth here.Beautiful, sunny day here, girls are loving a range and hanging out under the apple tree in the shade![]()
