What a lovely feather. Do you collect them MJ? I've taken to keeping some of the nicer ones that my girls drop as both a memento of each hen and for drawing practice. There are so many different types depending on where they came from. It's always a learning experience!

That's a good idea, it would keep your hand and eye tuned.

They really are/were. Black hens have their own beauty. Is Mary iridescent like that?

Yes, but she shines either green or purple, never blue.

Even if it's not with Ivy, I'll definitely give it a try once the hens are living in the funrun 24/7.
