I'm very grateful to the unknown hens who laid those eggs I bought and I'm glad they're living a free range life, but I feel so much more at ease with home laid eggs for breakfast.

That's wonderful. Just look at the difference in color. Eggs from your hens are irreplaceable. Great job Ivy!

He's a bit of a sweetheart. He takes his junior duties seriously and I think he's got a crush on Hinge.

Something amazing just happened.

Each morning the hens and I have a procession from the fox proof big coop to the funrun, about 15 metres I guess. I lead the way and drop tiny bites of lettuce as I go, and the hens happily tag along behind, enjoying their morning lettuce treat.

Today, the hens led the way!

I threw a few pieces of lettuce out front of them to keep them on task, but they went on ahead of me!
