It really is surprising that Peggy passed her in the pecking order. She is one feisty hen.

It's strange because Mary delegates pecking to Janet who delegates it to Peggy who pecks Mary. Ivy is pecked by everyone for being too clever and good at solving problems.

Perhaps that is because she doesn't really look like anybody else. Shad is always saying birds of a feather will flock together ~ or words to that effect. She is unique & uniquely individual.

I should clarify that the hens are peaceful all day long except for 4 or 5 pecking incidents that are over in a flash.
