Just lovely
It was designed by Tord Boontje and I bought it from GOMA up in Brissy when we all trooped up there for a cousin's wedding. It's the Phoenix teacup seen from an angle that doesn't show the phoenix. The koi Ribh saw is actually a hare and there are other symbols of the forest on it. I like using it when life has been harsh (Mel's long struggle against GBM, her death and funeral have been on my mind) because it reminds me to rise out of the ashes of sadness and fly into life again.
A sure sign of spring
What a great story to that one. I love that it can inspire you. I'm not sure who first thought up the phoenix, Ribh might know, but many say it's an ancient Egyptian figure. Anyway, it's a readily understood and inspirational fiction analogous to much of how people experience life. Peaks and troughs, peaks and troughs, the emotional rhythm of humanity. What a great story to that one. I love that it can inspire you. That's great to have.![]()
