MJ's little flock

Yep, crikey indeed!
Today is day 10, I got her out for her daily needs because I’m at work all day and can’t be sure she will do it herself. She is back in now, Snow will probably go in to lay at around 10 going off her usual schedule, I just hope she comes out again! Haha
Belle moves over for Snow to get in and lay, no aggression, then just moves onto her egg after she is done.
I guess I know if I have the bigger coop next time she goes through it, she is a reliable sitter and maybe is deserved of a chance to hatch some eggs… 🤔💜
I wouldn't worry until she's around 22-23 days. If you leave her be, she will work out her own schedule for getting up. At first, Mary was getting up every 48 hours but after a while she switched it to 24 hours, then 36ish.

I figure Mary knows more about her hunger than I do.

Also, when she eventually sets eggs, she knows more about the eggs needs than I ever will.

So I really want her to be in charge of her schedule and she can't work that out if I'm disrupting her.

I love how Snow and Belle are such peaceful friends 🥰

That is how mine behave. They go in and out of the Chicken Palace when I have the door to the yard open.
They're like that here. At the start they charged out and then kept close to the safety of the run. They're quite adventurous now and as long as there is food outside at some point they tend to stay out until dusk.

I need to make a rain shelter in the run and another shelter/panic room outside.
Well, those two old tables have done well so far. They're beginning to perish, but I think there's another three-four years in them yet.

You'd need quite a few to shelter so many birds though.
