MJ's little flock

It's a lovely cool morning so I'm having a cuppa in the funrun and managed to catch a photo of Mary dabbing water on her neck. Or maybe she's wiping her beak clean? Anyway, she's the only one with this odd habit.

Wow! That was nice of them! And the breakfast looks wonderful. If I recall correctly from childhood, duck eggs are usually richer than chicken eggs. How was the scramble? Could you detect a difference?

We used to keep a pair of ducks called Daddles and Bruce. Daddles was an outstanding guard duck and frightened anyone who came through the front gate. Bruce was an outstanding flyer who used to land on the neighbour's rainwater tank.
It is so nice to have eggs with flavor again. What a marvelous gift.

Somehow they seemed creamier. I would say that they are richer. Next up is over easy.

When I ate the wild duck eggs (the ones that were abandoned in the nest after the raccoon attacked) I found the yolk to white ratio was much greater than a chicken egg so they didn't do over-easy very well because there wasn't enough white. Not sure that would be the same for domestic duck eggs.

We shall find out. 😆
