Unfortunately she's used to SPSS and like a ninny, I used XLStat so we can't understand each other's terminology

Do any of you understand OLR in XLStat by any chance?

You manage to get really good photos, especially of Mary, the Black Australorp! It's really hard to get a good picture of black animals, and this really shows off her beautiful iridescent feathers. The stories you tell, both of the chooks and the people they are named for are just lovely! thank you!

The chapter was for an anthology and it's been sent off. They'll ask for a second draft at some point. I was extremely happy with how it turned out but I expect it could use some tightening up and a few months break from it will give me a fresh perspective and I'll see all the concepts that don't quite hang together.

The regression is for a different project, which I hope will produce a good paper. It's a topic few have written on but it has potential to expand, so I'm keen to dot the is and cross the ts properly. If the field of enquiry does expand, the paper should pick up citations, especially if it lands in the good journal.

I love it, so it's a joy. But anyone with determination can do it. It's just that most folks sensibly conk out after a few years and do something practical and more immediately rewarding. I haven't conked out yet, but at this point, I have to acknowledge I've done a heck of a lot of learning and I still have a hankering for more. I was talking to a friend recently, the one I take beach walks with, and I've always thought her intellectual gifts wasted because she writes policy, then she said she doesn't like projects that take longer than a week. I thought Ah! She'd hate doing what I do.

She said yes!! The mathematician about discussing ordinal logistic regression, that is. On March 10. Hopefully she won't say 'do over' and hopefully I'll have done everything else by then, so it'll be a quick step from chatting with her to crossing this task off my list.
