MJ's little flock

Aww. Lovely! Thank you for that.
Yes we had one day of monumental rain. Just shy of 3” (7.5 cm). And you would never know except for where I left a bucket out side.
I almost don't dare ask, but how are the chickens? Please don't answer if you don't want to.

Here's Ivy waiting for her checkup. She and Jan were very chatty in the car 🥰

I am tempted to say ‘nobody died’ which is kinda how I feel, but actually today was a good day.
Everyone was out and about. There was sunbathing and foraging and lots of chatter.
There were melon guts and zucchini/courgette tops and everyone had some.

Here is everyone out and about.

On the way home from the vet, I opened Jan's basket in case she wanted to hop out. She's very confident in the car these days and I knew I could trust her to be sensible. She decided to hop up onto the edge of the basket and rode like that for 10 minutes. Then she hopped onto the seat for a while before finally settling down on the floor.

How was they check up MJ?
I love that she got to look out the window for a bit.

Quite good. All clear on every front except the bacterial. Jan's bacterial overload is back :( so we've got another course of linco. Mark thinks all the rain isn't helping.

I'm convinced that chickens love riding in the car once they've had a few chances to realise they'll come to no harm. Sandy was an old hand in the car, so calm and sensible, now Janet has developed the same wisdom. The other three have a little further to go before I'd be comfortable letting them hop out of their compartments.
