Lorna makes good use of her fifth toe. She's the first one scratching this morning.

For me, there is something about juvenile chickens that makes them look prehistoric. They look much more like game fowl around this age maybe.

They're quite lean with disproportionately large feet, quick and agile.
 
The neighbour's daughter was home and she gave me three eggs for Mary :D

I've got my hopes riding on number two. From the colour of the shell, I think their silver Sussex laid it and I have an idea Rocky is too big to successfully mate their two little red hens.

Mary tried not to show how happy she was :p
