This is what I like about Barnevelders. They've got particularly good britches.

I'm going to put the ladder in the pullets room and put a couple of branches between the top level of the cat tower and the ladder. I don't like to think of them sleeping all night with their feet flat. I hope they'll be more comfy holding onto a branch.
Roosts here, where it can get very cold in the winter, are designed so that their feet are flat. This is to assure that their feet are covered by feathers when they roost in sub freezing temps. If they curl too tight around a roost their toes can stick out and suffer frost bite.

I am telling you this so that you don't worry too much about their feet being curled when they sleep. It will be fine if they sleep with them flat. Mine mostly do that all the time.
