I am reading ahead hoping to find good news.I'm a little worried about Lorna today. She was listless and breathing heavily this morning.
She's on the watch carefully list. If she's no better tomorrow, I'll make an appointment for her with Mark.
Those river chickens. In a frenzy, I cut quite a few branches from the thicket searching for Christa, last seen lurking around the thicket an hour previously.

Peggy and Ivy are in this shot. They give you a sense of how big the pile is.
She was hiding behind the ironing board the whole time
Christa says ""
Those 2 are trouble.Joycey says, "Best joke ever, Sister! I was watching the whole time and she was sooooo worked up!! Oh I'm so lucky you're my sister, you're so funny!!"
So. Much. Trouble. Those 2 are trouble.
She appears to have pooped mainly urates overnight, so I'll make her an appointment. She needs help.I am reading ahead hoping to find good news.![]()
It's things like Legionnaires Disease that are a concern in the UK water systems. What could happen is that water left in the pipe could develop bacteria or more likely mold could grow. The thing is I'm not certain it's all that likely. I know you thought that Janet was getting ill after using the mister. That's why I was suggesting that you bleach it. In reality, it is pretty unlikely for mold to grow like that in a hot dry climate like yours. Rather, I would expect the water left in the mister to evaporate quickly.
The key is, anywhere that water is permitted to sit, mold can grow. Mold spores are everywhere. All they need is a dank dark place to start growing.
I bet if you asked Lilly she would point out that for their survival they need to be on their toes and she's just making sure that happens. So you are saying Ivy has a little Lilly in her. Lilly was so good at torturing pullets. I don't think I ever saw her happier than when she was scaring a pullet.
That looks great. They're outside, on natural ground and have enough room to move around. Are those tent pegs you've used to hold the coop to the ground? So DH and I just moved the babies to a new part of the back yard. Our quarantine is probably not as strict as it should be, given the big girls were free-ranging all over the yard a week before. I hosed down the spot where the babies were initially, and put the quarantine cage down so the big girls couldn’t walk and poop there. It rained after that so hopefully gave the rest of the yard a wash.
So we move the babies every couple of days so they’re not wallowing in their own filth. Here is their setup:

And here is the tarp to give them some shade, but bricked up so there is airflow underneath.

And then Gizelle decided she was going to ‘do a Gucci’ and play dead!I was starting to panic and think she died from heat stroke, but she was just having a snooze in the sun!
