Well, there it is. I am so sorry, MJ. You did so much to try to help her along to recover. Big hug to you.

Thank you Michelle. The agapanthus on her grave is doing well and I look forward to its first flowers in a couple of years.

She was a very sweet little pullet. I liked her. I would have another Dorking if one ever came my way.

The other two pullets are thriving.

Actually the big news is that Edie is definitely a pullet, because she's started laying. Well ahead of schedule. She may be several weeks older than I'd been told. On her first day as a hen, she laid a tiny egg and two soft shelled eggs. Since then, she's been hiding them in the prunings pile.

Me too. Loz has had a very hard time and loved-lost so much.

We’ll have to see. It’s not fair to them if there is something toxic in our back yard.

What makes you think that something in particular is toxic in your yard? From what I've read they are dying from various causes.

What makes you think that something in particular is toxic in your yard? From what I've read they are dying from various causes.

It definitely feels like that but suggestions have been made that something might be weakening their immune system and making them more susceptible to things. I don’t know, all that I know is that I’m tired.
