This seems like a good idea. Thanks Bob. Naturally I just bought a big bag of layer feed, so I have heaps of it.Maybe I can buy some grower and mix it in.
How are the chickens getting along? Are the roosters fighting much?

They seem to get on pretty well, even the two boys. Even G-man’s morning chase of Bela seems to have got less. Hubby said he saw Bela throw a peck at G-man yesterday, but they seem to get on well. They were having a bath together on the grass a few weeks ago. This seems like a good idea.

From what I've read about roosters, that's amazing! They seem to get on pretty well, even the two boys. Even G-man’s morning chase of Bela seems to have got less. They’re both still under a year old, that might have something to do with it.From what I've read about roosters, that's amazing!
Do they sleep inside Loz? Katie and Edie continue to sleep in the sleepout at my place. They’re both still under a year old, that might have something to do with it.
I’ve attached a couple of videos and I wondered if @Shadrach or another rooster owner could help me interpret a noise G-man is making. If I let Bela out first, he makes a sort of cooing noise. It sounds happy, maybe he’s pleased about being let out? You can’t see him because he’s still in the darkened laundry, but if you turn your sound up, you can hear him. Meanwhile, Bela is doing his idling motor impression!
And here’s a video of the four of them waiting for breakfast.
Bela and G-man sleep in a dog crate in the laundry. We’re going to be away for a week and they will have to sleep in the henhouse, so I’m planning to put up some towels inside to help muffle the crowing.Do they sleep inside Loz? Katie and Edie continue to sleep in the sleepout at my place.
The second video is fascinating. Can't wait to see what experts say about it.
Have the neighbours said anything yet?Bela and G-man sleep in a dog crate in the laundry. We’re going to be away for a week and they will have to sleep in the henhouse, so I’m planning to put up some towels inside to help muffle the crowing.
No-one has said anything yet. I’m hoping that if no-one is getting woken up at stupid o’clock, then hopefully the day crowing doesn’t bother them. They’re pretty quiet today, given that it’s raining.Have the neighbours said anything yet?
Are you going somewhere nice?

Yes!! Have an awesome time!No-one has said anything yet. I’m hoping that if no-one is getting woken up at stupid o’clock, then hopefully the day crowing doesn’t bother them. They’re pretty quiet today, given that it’s raining.
