I have to say I'm surprised. That is great work on all of your parts. I am vet pleased that she has improved so. She is indeed very lucky to have found her way to your care. Great work!
At her consult last night Mark felt her swelling and decided to keep her on injections for the rest of the week. Mainly because eyp surgeries are very tricky and sometimes need more than one cut which is harder to heal in chickens who like nothing more than rolling around in dirt.

So we have two more evening trips to the surgery for shots, tonight and Friday night, then probiotics, then a follow up next Wednesday evening.

I've been given a gift!

It's small but not very small. It was deposited in the nest box of the funrun and the only hens who were in the run today were the four new ladies.

It's the wrong colour for Edie. Her's are quite white. It's not Joyce's.

That leaves Katie and Christa. I saw Christa go into the nest. But her eggs are usually not at all small or smooth shelled or dark speckled.

Is it Katie's first egg? Seems likely.

Here's a special Egg Day portrait just in case.

She's all grown up now :love

I was thinking the dark speckles might even out in time and darken her shells all over. Does that seem likely?
Maybe. My Samuel (crossbreed) lays darker Speckled eggs. Here's two, the first one was laid before the other one.
